Just had some of the best sushi yet in Toronto at lunch today. I know, Toronto does not exactly come to mind when you think of top notch sushi. But the scene for high end raw fish has come a long way in recent years.
JaBistro, which officially opened this January, is the creation of the same people who brought us Guu. It’s tucked away on 222 Richmond Street West. I won’t even attempt a detailed review. Check out what Toronto Life has to say as well as The Toronto Star.
If you go, you must order the Demi Katsu which is a tonkatsu sandwich (the most delicate breaded pork cutlet I have ever tasted) as well as the ebi, saba and salmon sushi. The saba (cured mackerel) is amazing.
